60 Years of Native American Music

Canyon Records of Phoenix, Arizona,  producer and distributor of Native American music, is one of the oldest cultural institutions in the state of Arizona, and one of the oldest independent record labels in the music industry. In October 2011, Canyon Records begins celebration of its 60th anniversary titled “Traditions and Transformations”. This landmark anniversary will be celebrated with a concert series at the Musical Instrument Museum, a Native American song and dance festival at the Mesa Arts Center, a special showcase at the Heard Museum Guild Indian Art Fair & Market, and a series of specially packaged recordings celebrating its history and Native American music.
